Corporations Division of the Secretary of State for Every State

When serving subpoenas or initial complaints on corporations, it is critical to know a few pieces of information:
  1. The official name of the corporation being served;
  2. The identity of the registered agent of service; and
  3. The address of the registered agent of series.

All of this information should be filed with the state in which the corporation is incorporated.  In most states, this will be filed with the Secretary of State for that state.  I have created a list of the websites for the corporations divisions of each state’s Secretary of State (or that state’s equivalent agency).

If any of the following information is out of date or incorrect, please let me know in the comments below.  If you have any questions or suggested topics for the blog, please email me at blauney@gmail.com.
